Official Harleston Town Guide

Harleston is a small, picturesque town nestled in the Waveney Valley. It’s a great location if you’re visiting the Norfolk Broads, seaside and the historic city of Norwich.

The Angles Way passes through Harleston, with plenty of other local walking routes to explore nearby. The town also sits on a national cycle route, and cyclists are warmly welcomed to rest and refuel in our cafés and pubs. There’s a well-equipped leisure facility and recreation ground, with fishing lakes close by for a quieter escape. Harleston holds a small market each Wednesday, which has been running since 1259.

Local volunteer groups organise events, including the Harleston & Waveney Festival, food festival and the marvelous Christmas market. Redenhall with Harleston Town Council also put together a calendar of events, including the annual Remembrance Parade and service, trails showcasing local shops and car boots sales fostering community involvement and to promote tourism.

The town is home to many independent shops, cafés and restaurants, catering for local people as well as visitors. Harleston is proud to retain free parking and provides a perfect place for a very pleasant day shopping, with a bite to eat or something to drink.
