Harleston Information Plus

Harleston Information Plus is a community Hub for Harleston and the surrounding area in Norfolk and Suffolk. It has a voluntary management board made up of local people and with the help of around 40 volunteers provides services and support to over 6500 people each year. The organisation is based at 8 Exchange Street in Harleston.

Harleston and District Business Forum

Harleston and District Business Forum, in its current structure, was formed in 2012 to provide like-minded business owners and other interested parties with a forum to share business information, to network, to be an official voice when approached by or when approaching local, regional and national authorities and ultimately to help grow businesses in the area and promote the town and surrounding area.

Harleston’s Future

Harleston’s Future was established by Harleston and District Business Forum in 2013 to help the town respond to change and draw in visitors to support the local shops and businesses.  We believe that Harleston, with its plethora of historic buildings and architecture, delightful range of independent shops, cafe’s, pubs and hotels and its position in the heart of the beautiful Waveney Valley, makes a fabulous addition to any holiday itinerary or day out from City or Coast.

Norfolk Assistance Scheme (NAS)

The Norfolk Assistance Scheme (NAS) helps people who are in financial hardship and cannot pay their living costs. There are many reasons why this might happen to you:

  • Redundancy
  • Work hours have been cut
  • On a low income or benefits
  • Waiting for Universal Credit payments
  • A home emergency such a fire or flood
  • Have a special educational need or disability
  • Have mental health issues or in ill health
  • Have left an abusive relationship
  • Have dependent children
  • In a resettlement scheme

If you are eligible they can:

  • Provide emergency financial help
  • Supply essential household goods and furniture
  • Give support, guidance and advice

Universal Credit

Universal Credit is a payment to help with your living costs. It’s paid monthly – or twice a month for some people in Scotland. You may be able to get it if you’re on a low income, out of work or you cannot work. Universal Credit is being rolled out to replace Jobseeker’s Allowance, Housing Benefit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment & Support Allowance and Income Support. The full rollout of Universal Credit is scheduled for completion in 2024.

Rehab 4 Addiction

Rehab 4 Addiction was established in 2012 by Oliver Clark, it is an advisory and referral service for people who suffer from alcohol, drug and behavioural addiction it works closely with rehabilitation centres and outpatient clinics throughout the United Kingdom and the admissions team match a patients’ addiction with an appropriately placed rehabilitation centre.

Help Hub

Everybody needs a bit of extra support from time to time and the Help Hub makes sure people get that help as soon as possible.

Getting help early can stop problems from getting worse. It might be only a small problem but if it’s difficult to find a solution straightaway a small problem can grow and lead to more worries.

The Help Hub is a partnership between organisations that support people in Broadland and South Norfolk. It can offer practical support, suggest community groups, and offer advice and guidance to get you back on track.
