NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
SECTION 15 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is given that the Secretary of State for Transport has approved the continuing in force for the period set out below of Orders made by the Norfolk County Council under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, in respect of the restrictions detailed below which were made owing to the likelihood of danger arising to the public due to Covid-19 and the need to undertake social distancing measures.
Date of Orders 2nd July 2020 (unless otherwise stated).
Period of extension 6th December 2021 to 4th June 2022
Road closures: all vehicles will be temporary prohibited from entering, waiting or being in the lengths of roads specified. Parking restrictions: all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on the specified lengths of road.
AYLSHAM
The following roads will be subject to the temporary imposition of a one-way system:-
(i) Red Lion Street (southwards) from its junction with White Hart Street to its junction with Penfold Street; and
(ii) Market Place (south westwards) from its junction with Red Lion Street for a distance of 40m south west.
Order dated 10th September 2020 – Road closure: Oakfield Road from its junction with Gashouse Hill to its junction with Burgh Road.
CROMER
Suspension of parking:
(i) A149 Hamilton Road (north side of carriageway) from its junction with A149 Prince of Wales Road for a distance of 70 metres eastwards; and
(ii) U10217 Garden Street (west side of carriageway) from its junction with A149 Church Street for a distance of 70 metres northwards.
DISS
Road closure: U71669/46 Market Place from 27 metres south of its joining with U71669/30 southwards for a distance of 55 metres.
FAKENHAM
The use by vehicles of the C551 Norwich Street from its junction with C550 Whitehorse Street heading west for 120m will be temporarily prohibited on Mon/Tue/Wed/Fri/Sat (Thurs already closed for market) between 8:30 and 16:30 hrs.
GORLESTON-ON-SEA
Suspension of parking:
A. C632 High Street (east side of the carriageway):-
(i) from its junction with U61206 Horsey’s Lane for a distance of 115m northwards; and
(ii) from a point 65m south of its junction with U61227 School Lane to a point 20m north of its junction with U61227 School Lane.
B. U61529 Lower Esplanade from 30m south of its junction with U61541 Pier Gardens for a distance of 150m southwards.
C. Marine Parade:-
(i) (east side) from its junction with Yallop Avenue southwards for a distance of 80 metres to its end; and
(ii) (on both sides in unrestricted areas only) from its junction with Clarence Road southwards for its entire length.
HOLT
Suspension of parking:
(i) U14375 Bull Street (south side of carriageway) from its junction with U14379 Shirehall Plain for a distance of 40 metres eastwards;
(ii) C488 High Street (south side of carriageway) from its junction with U14379 Shirehall Plain for a distance of 17 metres both eastwards and westwards; and
(iii) C488 Market Place (south side of carriageway) from a point 56 metres west of its junction with C300 Station Road for a distance of 22 metres westwards.
KING’S LYNN
All vehicles are prohibited from waiting, stopping and loading/unloading in the U20422 Paradise Lane from its junction with U2429 Old Sunway to its junction with U2415 Norfolk Street.
MUNDESLEY
Suspension of parking: U14328 Station Road (south side of carriageway) from its junction with U14329 Back Street for a distance of 50m westwards.
NORTH WALSHAM
Date of Order: 20th August 2020
A. All vehicles are prohibited from waiting and stopping on the C557 Market Place:-
(i) from a point 72m east of C561 Kings Arms Street for a distance of 11m eastwards (suspension of 5 parking bays). Please note that the 2 disabled parking bays outside Sams Pets and Boots will remain open;
(ii) from a point 32m west of C557 Church Street for a distance of 7m westwards (suspension of 1 disabled parking bay located directly outside Santander); and
(iii) from a point 30m east of C561 Kings Arms Street for a distance of 30m eastwards (suspension of loading bay).
B. The C557 Market Place from its junction with C561 Kings Arms Street to its junction with C557 Church Street will be subject to the temporary imposition of a 7.5 tonne weight restriction (Accept for unloading between 16:00hrs – 10:00hrs).
REDENHALL WITH HARLESTON
(N.B – Harleston Town Council are currently enquiring with Norfolk County Council Highways Department regarding the accuracy of the information as set out below.)
A. Road closures:
(i) C571 The Thoroughfare from its junction with U76018 Exchange Street to its junction with U76536 Bullock Fair Close;
(ii) C877 Swan Lane from its junction with U71084 Weavers Croft to its junction with C571 The Thoroughfare;
(iii) U76018 Exchange Street from its junction with C571 London Road to its junction with U76016 Old Market Place.
B. U76017/50 Market Place between Church Street and Exchange Street will be subject to the temporary suspension of the 11 parking bays and no vehicle will be permitted to park or stop.
SHERINGHAM
Suspension of parking: on the U10153 Station Approach from its junction with U10113 St Peters Road heading west for 45m.
WATTON
Road closures:
(i) Middle Street for its entire length;
(ii) Dereham Road from its junction with Harvey Street to the junction with High Street.
WYMONDHAM
A. C700 Market Place from its junction with U78447 Queen Street for 60 metres eastwards will be subject to the temporary imposition of a one-way system so traffic flow will be westbound only.
B. U78299 Friarscroft Lane from its junction with C700 Market Place to its junction with U78300 Chandlers Hill will be subject to the temporary imposition of a 7.5 Tonne weight restriction.
C. U78447 Queen Street at its junction with C700 Market Place will be temporarily subject to a no right turn restriction.
D. To create a temporary taxi rank on Market Place 71524/10 between its junctions with Bridewell Street and Fairland Street to permit taxis only to wait and park in a single vehicle length bay of 5.5m on the east side of Market Place situated between the two disabled parking bays.
Alternative signed routes will be provided for traffic whilst the traffic management measures are in place. The existing Traffic Orders relating to parking and one-way restrictions in these locations will be temporarily suspended to facilitate this these restrictions whilst the need for the measures exists.
Persons who contravene the Order will be liable, on conviction, to a fine.
