NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the: 1) C571 London Road/The Thoroughfare from its junction with 7P161 Magpie Court for 207m northwards to its junction with U76536 Bullock Fair Close; 2) C877 Swan Lane from its junction with U71084 Weaves Croft for 179m eastwards to its junction with C571 The Thoroughfare; 3) C571 The Thoroughfare from its junction with U76017 Church Street for 146m northwards to its junction with U76536 Bullock Fair Close; 4) C571 Redenhall Road (northbound only) from its junction with C571 The Thoroughfare for 40m northwards to its junction with C363 Station Road; 5) C571 London Road/The Thoroughfare from its junction with 7P161 Magpie Court for 293m northwards to its junction with C571 Redenhall Road; 6) U60117 Church Street from its junction with U76016 Old Market Place for 81m south-westwards; and 7) U76016 Mendham Lane/Old Market Place from its junction with U76251 Briar Road for 428m north-westwards to its junction with U76017 Broad Street in the TOWN OF REDENHALL WITH HARLESTON because of Town Centre refurbishment works.
The roads 1) to 6) will be temporarily closed (except for access) and road 7) will be temporarily subject to a one-way restriction (northbound) from 18th July to 14th December 2022 only while signs indicating the closure are in place, for the duration of the works, expected to be about 150 days within the period.
Alternative route is via: 1) Southbound – Broad Street, Old Market Place, Mendham Lane, A143 Harleston Bypass, Needham Road, London Road; Northbound – Redenhall Road, A143 Harleston Bypass, Needham Road (London Road will be access only up to points of closure); 2) Weavers Croft, Starston Road, Swan Lane; 3) Southbound (heading towards town centre) – Broad Street, London Road, Needham Road, A143 Harleston Bypass, Redenhall Road/ Northbound (heading into town centre) – Needham Road; 4) Broad Street; 5) Southbound – Broad Street, Old Market Place, Mendham Lane, A143 Harleston Bypass, Needham Road, London Road/ Northbound – Redenhall Road, A143 Harleston Bypass, Needham Road, London Road; 6) Southbound – Broad Street, Old Market Place, Mendham Lane, A143 Harleston Bypass, Needham Road, London Road; Northbound – Redenhall Road, A143 Harleston Bypass, Needham Road, London Road; and 7) N/A (Needham, Redenhall with Harleston).
(If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
