Due to new Government Legislation, The Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panels (Coronavirus)(Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime Panel Meetings)(England and Wales) Regulations 2020 (LAPCP Regulations 2020), this Town Council’s Standing Orders will be updated to allow the use of remote meetings while social distancing is in place at the next appropriate meeting. Members of the public are welcome to attend by either phone, computer or other device.

(a) 2019/1618: Land at former Apollo Club, Mendham Lane, Harleston
Proposal: Erection of sheltered housing compromising of 40 apartments, 4 bungalows, garages, 2 coach houses, access and ancillary development. Application Type: Full – This committee Commented; Over development of the site with major parking issues, which imply that the retired do not own a car. The streetscape was considered to be detrimental to the area with the 3 storey homes on the roadside on an already elevated site, overbearing for the houses on the opposite side of the street. – Decision – to object on the above-mentioned grounds.
SNC-Decision: Approval with Conditions
(b) 2020/1098 Location: 6 St Marys Close, Harleston, IP20 9HS
Proposal: Demolition of existing store building and erection of single storey rear extension. Minor internal and external alterations
Application Type: Householder
The committee discussed this application and were concerned about the possible impact the installation of a balcony could have. It was agreed to convey this to SNC SNC-Decision: Approval with Conditions
