To elect the Chair of the Committee.

To elect the Vice-Chair of the Committee.

To receive and consider apologies for absence.

To receive any declarations of interest in items on the agenda.

  1. Minutes of the Previous Meeting

To approve the minutes of the previous Amenities & Facilities Committee meeting.

  1. Committee Structure and Terms of Reference

To discuss and agree the structure and Terms of Reference for the Committee.

  1. Matters Arising

To receive an update on matters arising from the previous minutes.

  1. Open Forum

To allow members of the public to raise matters (in accordance with standing orders).

  1. Projects for 2026/27 – Updates and Decisions

To receive updates and consider decisions on the following:

    • Leisure Centre
      • Water damage – Floor quotes and options
    • Town Brackets
      • Risk assessment led use
    • Christmas Lights
      • Consider contractor for electricity supply, hire install and removal
      • Agree on the type of 3D light structure and maximum expenditure (£2,500 received via grant)
    • Public Toilets
      • Door quotes and options
      • Out of hours misuse
    • Recreation Ground
      • Zip Wire location (along back hedge)
      • Gyro spiral approve cost repair (excess of Clerks authorisation)
    • Town Sign
      • To confirm whether the Town Sign will be replaced like-for-like or updated with a new design
      • Design guidance including community engagement
    • Cemetery & Garden of Remembrance
      • To approve recommendation to finance committee to use the General Reserve for spoil heaping costs not included within the current budget.
    • Memorial Plaques for trees and historical signs for the Blacker Bombard – update
      • To consider whether the plaques and signs should be formally unveiled at an event or simply installed.
  1. Questions from the Annual Town Meeting
    To review questions raised at the Annual Town Meeting and agree formal responses.
  2. Recommendations

To make recommendations to the Finance Committee and/or Full Council.

The next meeting of the Amenities and Facilities Committee will be held on Wednesday 1 July 2026.
