We’re delighted to announce several new community noticeboards across the town, helping local information, events and updates reach even more people.
This is a great example of our community working together to make a positive difference.
A huge thank you goes to local resident John Duckworth, who generously volunteered his time and skills to build a new noticeboard for the allotments. After allotment holders identified the need for a dedicated space to share information on-site, the Town Council was pleased to provide the materials and install the completed board. The noticeboard is now in place and ready for allotment holders to use.
You may recall that the Broad Street bus shelter was refurbished last year with funding from South Norfolk District Council, including provision for a community noticeboard. We’re pleased to report that the new noticeboard is now installed and available for anyone to advertise local events, activities and community information.
At our Annual Town Meeting in May, a resident asked when the board would be installed. At that time, we were still awaiting delivery from the supplier, which took longer than expected. Thank you for your patience while we completed the installation.
We’re also pleased to share that regular visitors to Harleston Cemetery will soon benefit from a new noticeboard as well.
These noticeboards may be simple additions, but they play an important role in helping people stay informed, connected and involved in community life. We hope they prove to be a valuable resource for residents for years to come.
