On the 6th June 2022 the Independent Examiner Derek Stebbing BA (Hons) Dip EP MRTPI from IPe has now submitted his Report on Redenhall with Harleston Neighbourhood Development Plan 2022-2038.
The Examiner recommends ‘that the Plan, once modified, proceeds to referendum on the basis that it has met all the relevant legal requirements’. Our consultants will edit the plan in line with the Examiner’s Report and will then hand it over to South Norfolk to arrange the Referendum. With the publication of the Examiner’s report, the Neighbourhood Plan now has some weight in the determination of planning applications.

The Plan will next proceed to referendum where every resident of Redenhall with Harleston, who is entitled to vote in South Norfolk Council elections and is 18 years or over, will have the opportunity to vote on whether or not they agree with the Neighbourhood Plan.
It is very important to not confuse the Neighbourhood Plan with any other proposals for the town or town centre.
A Neighbourhood Plan is a planning policy document written by the community to guide future development in the area. This will be of great importance at a time when there are proposals for significant development in town. It will also provide the Town Council with a greater allocation of the Community Infrastructure Levy which is paid by the developer to South Norfolk Council.
