Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026 – Notice
Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“RTRA 1984”)
as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994

Norfolk County Council hereby gives notice that to facilitate the Harleston Summer Street Food Festival, it intends to make an Order under Section 16A of the RTRA 1984 and all other enabling powers, with the consent of the Secretary of State the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic on the:

  1. U76018 Exchange Street from its junction with C571 London Road to its junction with U76016 Old Market Place;
  2. U76017 Church Street from its junction with U76016 Old Market Place to its junction with C571 The Thoroughfare; and
  3. C571 London Road/The Thoroughfare from its junction with U76018 Exchange Street to its junction with C877 Swan Lane;

in the Town of Redenhall with Harleston.

The Order shall be in effect (in force) on 13th June 2026 until the restrictions are no longer necessary on that date. The roads will be temporarily restricted (except for emergency and pedestrian access) for the duration of the Harleston Summer Street Food Festival which is anticipated to be between 15:00 and 22:00. The restrictions specified will only have effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of on-site signs.

Alternative route will be via: U76017 Church Street, U76016 Old Market Place, U76016 Mendham Lane, C565 Spirketts Lane, B1116 Shotford Road, C571 London Road.

The promoter of the event is Redenhall with Harleston Town Council.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of, a restriction or prohibition imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.
