The Town Council understands that the businesses in town have been approached by Norfolk County Council (NCC) this week, regarding upcoming roadworks taking place along The Throughfare in October this year.
These roadworks are being organised by CityFibre, who are upgrading our local internet supply, and have been approved by NCC’s Highways division.
We’re also aware of the upcoming partial closure of Wilderness Lane, from 20th July. This for Cadent to perform maintenance on gas pipes, and has been approved by NCC.
We want to reassure you that the Town Council will continue to share information with you regarding any roadworks affecting the town. Earlier this year, we held a multi-disciplinary public meeting, where the team at NCC Highways presented, and answered your questions. In March the Town Clerk issued a formal report and in May she made an official complaint to NCC regarding roadworks. We encourage all residents and businesses to visit the One Cause way website: https://one.network/public to view live traffic updates and road works information. It also details date ranges, and where necessary, diversion routes. You can subscribe to live updates from the site too.
You may also subscribe to our website for news updates, which includes Traffic Regulation Orders. These are updated as and when we receive updates from NCC.
If you would like to issue a formal complaint or ask a question regarding the roadworks, please reach out to our new County Councillor, Joseph Kerrison, who is also the Deputy Cabinet Leader of Highways & Transport at NCC: joseph.kerrsion.clrr@norfolk.gov.uk
