The Town Council is aware of the recent incident involving a fallen bough at the Recreation Ground on Sunday, 25 May. We recognise that the incident was upsetting for those present and for the wider community and we are in contact with the families directly involved.
At the Council meeting on 28 May, it was agreed that an investigation will be undertaken to better understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. This investigation will be led by Councillor MBA, with support from the Town Clerk and Councillor Chenery.
The safety and wellbeing of all who use our public spaces is very important to us. We are committed to openness and will share the findings of the review at the next scheduled Town Council meeting.
