2026 Grant award selection

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Redenhall with Harleston Town Council grants have been selected!

The Grant scheme is used to promote a vibrant and active community in Redenhall and Harleston and providing financial support to local organisations.

We would like to thank each applicant for taking the time to apply. Wehad some excellent applications this year from businesses who contribute valuable work to our community. We’re unable to support all proposals and the decision is not an easy one.

We’re pleased to announce that the following businesses were awarded a grant.

Chatty Church Family Group has received a £250 grant to help them to continue to offer light refreshments and activities for families who go along to their group at the Chatty Church. This is a great group with a sense of community and support for families, where they can go in and meet new people, socialise and spend some time with their loved ones.

Exchange 2 has a received a grant of £1,030 to help towards their insurance costs and general building maintenance. Exchange 2 is a registered charity that has been a cornerstone of support for local young people in school years 7-13 since 2002.

Based at The Cabin on the Harleston Recreation Ground, Exchange 2 is not just a youth facility, it’s a safe and welcoming space that young people can call their own, it’s a place for them to relax, socialise, learn and grow.

Harleston Players has received a grant of £1,000 to help with the Waveney Valley Lines project. This summer, Harleston Players are producing a play by Eileen Ryan telling the story of the Waveney Valley Line.

Harleston Players is an award-winning amateur drama group in Harleston, Norfolk, offering theatre opportunities forall ages, including youth and community productions.

Harleston and District Historical Society has received a grant of £260 to cover the annual rent for the Museum.

Harleston and District Historical Society provide a focus in the town and surrounding district for people interested in its history.  The Society runs the Harleston Museum, offer monthly lectures, provide walks and trails, and arrange local research projects.

Harleston Information Plus has received a grant of £700 to help with their core costs, such as insurance. Harleston Information Plus (HIP) is a community hub and information centre in Harleston. It plays a transformative role in the lives of individuals and families by connecting people with services, opportunities, and each other, making it an invaluable resource for the entire community.

We recognise the immense value of voluntary and community activity and its contribution to residents’ wellbeing. The Council is committed to assisting voluntary and not-for-profit organisations working for the benefit of Redenhall and Harleston residents and/or to deliver projects that will make a difference to the people living in the area.

Organisations who receive a grant from the Council are expected to present a report, detailing how they used the money at the next year’s Annual Town Meeting.

Our 2026 Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday 12th May, from 6-8pm at Harleston Sancroft Academy, where you can hear from last year’s recipients.
