Town Sign update – thank you for your vote!

Thank you to everyone who voted in our town sign poll or attended the public meeting in September.

Your feedback helped shape the decision on what happens next, and we’re pleased to confirm that almost 90% of poll respondents supported replacing the sign like-for-like.

Following the removal of the sign in September, after decades of weathering had made it a safety hazard, the Town Council reviewed the poll results at its meeting on 30 September. We’re now working with local contractors to refurbish the concrete base and shield, and create a new wooden post.

Your views have helped guide the way forward, and we’ll share a project timeline as soon as it’s available.
