Last week we shared the outcome of a query regarding speeding on Spirketts Lane, and stated that we’ll contact the developer regarding this issue. The correct developer is actually Orbit Homes and not Cripps, as originally stated.
A resident who’s been involved in the Harleston’s planning previously has also advised us that the responsibility does in fact lie with Norfolk County Council. So we will contact them again to ensure a positive outcome to this issue.

At the Councillor’s Drop-in Surgery in September, a resident queried when the speed limit on Spirketts Lane was going to be reduced from 60pmh to 30mph, as per the original planning approval for the new homes development stated it would.
The Town Council has contacted Norfolk County Council’s Highways department, who has stated that they don’t have a confirmed date for this, as it forms part of the developer agreement that has not been started yet.
Highways has suggested that anyone requiring further information on this matter contact the developer. The Town Council will contact the to find out further information about this, and will update you when we’re able to.
