Last Thursday (23rd April 2026) Ann-Marie Doggett, Redenhall with Harleston Town Council’s contracted Events Co-ordinator, under the Visit Harleston brand, had the pleasure of visiting 10 Downing Street, having been invited to celebrate the Women in Tech Taskforce by her local MP, Jess Asato.
The taskforce was set up in December by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology to help more women enter, stay, progress and lead in the UK tech sector.
Led by Liz Kendall, Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, the taskforce is designed to look at real, practical change rather than vague statements. Areas include getting more girls and women into STEM and digital careers , retaining women already in tech roles, supporting returners after career breaks, and tackling bias and workplace culture issues.
Ann-Marie said “It was amazing! The room full of women making an impact, visible role models, business leaders, founders, changemakers and voices who represent modern Britain. I actually had a 10 minute appointment with Liz Kendall. I have to say it was a real moment in history.”
We’re incredibly proud of Ann-Marie for being included at such an inspiring event. Her invitation is a testament to the impact she makes, and we’re delighted to see her among so many women championing progress, leadership and change.
