Bus Shelter Refurbishment Underway!

Over the coming months, our town’s bus shelter will be receiving the care and attention it truly deserves. Thanks to a generous grant from Norfolk County Council—covering 80% of the costs, with the remaining 20% funded by the Town Council—we’re excited to begin a full refurbishment that will enhance both safety and usability for residents.

 What’s Happening?

  • Roof Repairs
Specialist contractors will begin by restoring the roof, including tiling, guttering, and fascias. Safety checks and permits are currently being arranged, with work commencing soon.
  • Lighting & Electrics
Once the roof is complete, we’ll be working alongside Norfolk County Council contractors to upgrade the electrics. This includes installing a motion sensor light—something many residents have requested to improve visibility during the darker winter months.
  • Live Timetable Screen
A new digital screen will be added to display real-time bus information, including arrivals, delays, and cancellations—making travel planning easier and more reliable.
  • Fresh Paint Inside & Out
To complete the transformation, the shelter will receive a fresh coat of paint, giving it a clean and welcoming look.

We’re currently finalising the schedule and will do our best to minimise disruption throughout the works. Once complete, we hope you’ll agree that the upgraded shelter will be an even more valuable asset to our community. We will keep the community up to date with our plans.
