Only Blue Badge Holders may use designated Disabled Bays

It has been brought to our attention that the disabled parking bays are being misused on a regular basis.

Therefore, we kindly remind all residents and visitors that disabled parking bays are reserved exclusively for vehicles displaying a valid Blue Badge. These bays are essential for ensuring accessible parking for individuals with mobility challenges.

As outlined in the Highway Code, it is illegal to park in a disabled bay without a valid Blue Badge. Misuse of these bays can result in fines and enforcement action. The Blue Badge must be clearly displayed on the dashboard or windscreen, and only used when the badge holder is present in the vehicle.

“Disabled parking bays are designated spaces reserved for vehicles displaying a valid Blue Badge. It is illegal to park in a disabled bay without one, even if you are transporting a disabled person.”

We ask all residents to respect these spaces and help maintain fair access for those who genuinely need them. Misuse not only breaks the law — it undermines the independence and dignity of disabled individuals in our community.

Thank you for your cooperation and consideration.
