Upcoming Temporary Closure of the A143 Bungay Road in the Parish of Scole to facilitate surface dressing works (REF NO. STRO9181)

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (STRO9181) affecting the A143 Bungay Road from its junction with the A140 Roundabout for 2000m eastwards in the PARISH OF SCOLE to facilitate surface dressing works.

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 21st June to 14th July 2023 only while signs indicating the closure is place for the duration of the works expected to be about 24 days within the period.

Alternative route is via: A143 Lower Street, Bungay Road, Scole Road, Brockdish Needham Bypass, Harleston Bypass, Bungay Road, Old Railway Road, Bungay Road, B1332 Norwich Road B1527 Church Road Short New Road, Hempnall Road, Bungay Road Mill Road, Hempnall Road, A140 Norwich, The Street, Ipswich Road, Dickleburgh Bypass, Scole Bypass (Scole, Wortwell, Bedingham, Hedenham, Redenhall with Harleston, Needham, Topcroft, Pulham Market, Alburgh, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Denton, Tivetshall, Burston and Shimpling, Brockdish, Earsham, Wacton, Brome and Oakley, Bungay, Morningthorpe and Fritton, Woodton, Stuston, Hempnall, Long Stratton, Ditchingham).

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
