This letter is to advise you that the following event is taking place in the town centre in November which has been organised by Harleston’s Future and Harleston Town Council. Food and drink stalls are booked and stalls with a variety of items for sale making this an ideal opportunity to get your Christmas presents in good time before the big day.
The Christmas Market and Switch-On event will be taking place on the Market Place, Exchange Street, The Thoroughfare and Church Street on Saturday 25th November 2023.
Road closure – to start 10.30am until 8.30pm
St. John’s Church Winter Fayre – Broad Street – 9.30am – 4.00pm
Market – starts at 12 noon until 7pm
Harleston Carol Singers – 12.30pm – 1.00pm TBC
The Harleston Sancroft Academy Choir (Primary) – Singing on Market Place – 1.30pm – 2pm
My Choir Rocks – Singing on Market Place – 2.30pm – 3.00pm TBC
Park Radio – from 3pm until 7pm
Santa’s Grotto – Children will be able to visit Santa in his Grotto at Harleston Information Plus from 2pm-6pm (2pm–2.30pm reserved for children with SEND) cost is £3.50 per child. As always Santa’s Grotto will be in Harleston Information Plus.
Look out for the Christmas Scavenger Hunt Competition in the town, forms available from Saturday 21st October until Friday 24th November from Robinsons, The Green Cupboard, The Swan and Harleston Information Plus. All entries must be in by the end of Friday 24th November. Winners will be announced and presented with their prizes just before the Lights switch-on on at 5.30pm on 25th.
In addition to our normal stalls, and taking into account the current financial climate, Harleston’s Future recognise that it may be a difficult time for families at Christmas, so have decided to run a stall with preloved toys, books and CD’s. We would welcome any donations towards this stall to help recycle these unwanted children’s items and although we won’t be putting a cost on them at the event, we will be asking for sensible donations on the day. Donations can be dropped off at The Green Cupboard or The Swan Hotel. All proceeds will go towards providing future events in the town.
