Upcoming temporary road closures of C566 Mendham Lane in the Parish of Redenhall with Harleston due to CityFibre installation works – STRO11480

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (STRO11480) affecting the C566 Mendham Lane from its junction with C361 Low Road for 278m eastwards and 404m westwards (“Road A”) and C361 Low Road from its junction with C566 Mendham Lane for 50m northwards and 100m southwards (“Road B”) in the Town of Redenhall with Harleston to facilitate CityFibre installation works for new fibre network, the Roads A and B will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 23rd to 27th September 2024, but may continue to be closed until the 8th November 2024 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Alternative route is via: Road A) C566 Mendham Lane, A143 Harleston Bypass, Spirketts Lane, B116 Shotford Road, Harleston Road, Withersdale Road, Withersdale Street, The Street and; Road B) C361 Low Road, High Road, A143 Harleston Bypass, Spirketts Lane, B116 Shotford Road (Weybread, Mendham, Redenhall with Harleston).

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Roads A and B where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works/when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 8th November 2024 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
