Policy Consultation: Licensing Act 2003 Statement of Policy review

South Norfolk District Council are conducting a Licensing Act 2003 Statement of Policy review.  The Licensing Act 2003 requires each Local Licensing Authority to publish a Statement of Policy every five years, which sets out the general principles to be applied to licensing under the Act within the Licensing Authority’s area.

The Act also requires that South Norfolk District Council consult with interested parties (i.e. police, fire, licence holders and representatives of local businesses and residents etc.), before they publish the Statement of Policy.

South Norfolk District Council are proposing that minor amendments are made to the Policy, with the draft version available on their website from Monday 21 July 2025 – www.southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk/licensing/licences/licensing-policies/licensing-act-2003

The consultation will run for 6 weeks commencing on the 21 July 2025 until the 1 September 2025.  They would welcome your comments on these proposals.  Your comments can be submitted by letter to The Horizon Centre, Peachman Way, Broadland Business Park, Norwich, NR7 0WF or preferably by e–mail to licensingpolicies@southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk

Any comments you submit should clearly state your name, any organisation or persons you may be responding on behalf of, your address and contact details.  Please note all comments will be made public as part of the review process via their website.

If you would like a hard copy of the draft policy, please contact the Licensing Team at South Norfolk District Council using the contact details above.
