On Friday 15th August 2025, the community of Harleston came together to remember the fallen and mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day.
Thank you to everyone who attended the service of remembrance at the War Memorial. During the service, the Chairman of the Harleston Branch of the Royal British Legion addressed the gathering, offering a moving insight into the story of the Forgotten Army. Members of the local Girl Guides also gave a heartfelt reading of a poem, adding a personal and poignant touch to the occasion.
The service concluded with the laying of wreaths and memorial crosses — a fitting tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those who served.
We are grateful to all who took part and joined us in remembering this important chapter of our history.
