The Council year runs from June to May, so at our Council AGM last month, our Chair and Vice Chair were elected. We’re pleased to announce that Councillor Paul Mba (also known as Mo) and Councillor Matt Scade were elected to these positions respectively, retaining their titles for another year.
Cllr Mba said
“I am pleased that the Town Councillors have again elected me as Chair of the Town Council again. This role can sometimes be challenging, but also very rewarding and I truly find it an honour and a privilege to hold the position of Chair.
We’re so lucky to live in such a fantastic town with so many people prepared to help others and volunteer for all the groups we have in the town, and of course our brilliant businesses.
The Council team has ongoing projects we’re working on and you will see these taking place as we move forward. I will continue to serve the town to the best of my ability, helping keep our lovely town the best it can be.”
The Council has five Committees, of which Councillors were appointed to Committees at the AGM, as follows:
Amenities & Facilities: Cllr Roy, Cllr Scade, Cllr West and Cllr Wilkinson
Strategy: All Councillors
Finance: Cllr Brownsea, Cllr Mba, Cllr Scade and Cllr West
HR: Cllr Mba, Cllr Scade and Cllr Wilkinson
Planning & Development: Cllr Graham, Cllr Mba and Cllr Roy
